What counts as a TypeFree Cloud minute?
Cloud minutes are a shared meter for GPT-4o speech recognition and optional TypeFree Cloud cleanup. Speech uses the audio duration; cloud cleanup converts words at 300 words per minute. Local cleanup does not spend extra Cloud minutes. Paid users can buy 250 additional minutes for $5; top-up credit does not expire.

Your personal dictionary scales with your tier.
TypeFree quietly learns the proper nouns you use — your client's name, your product SKU, your project codename — and starts spelling them correctly without you ever opening a settings panel. The bigger your tier, the more terms it remembers. Once full, the oldest unused entries get dropped to make room for new ones.

+Is there a trial of Standard or Pro?
No — the Free tier is the trial that does not expire. It includes the same GPT-4o speech engine, built-in cleanup styles, local cleanup where supported, and 100 TypeFree Cloud minutes each month. Upgrade only when you need more speech time, a larger dictionary, custom prompts, or Audio Import.
+What happens when I run out of TypeFree Cloud minutes?
The app offers three choices: buy top-up credit, wait for the monthly reset, or use experimental offline ASR if it is already installed. Paid users can buy 250 additional minutes for $5.
+What's the personal dictionary, and what happens when it's full?
Every time TypeFree cleans up a dictation it remembers proper nouns and technical terms — your colleagues' names, your product names, your industry jargon — so they get spelled correctly next time without you uploading a glossary. Free fits 500 terms, Standard 2,000, Pro 15,000. When the dictionary fills up, the lowest-ranked entry (least-used + least-recent) is dropped to make room. Pro caps at a size most professionals never reach in a career.
+Does a bigger dictionary make recognition slower or more expensive?
No. Every recording uses a bounded slice of your dictionary at recognition time. The bigger Pro number is about how much long-tail vocabulary stays available for retrieval, not sending every saved word on every request. Pro is bigger memory and more workflow control, not a secretly different accuracy tier.
+Is TypeFree Cloud the default?
Yes. GPT-4o Transcribe is the product-default speech engine because recent mixed-language testing made it more reliable than the local VibeVoice path. Cleanup remains independently selectable and stays local by default on supported Macs.
+Can I switch between monthly and annual?
Yes, via the Stripe Customer Portal in the app's Account panel. Switching to annual prorates immediately; switching from annual to monthly takes effect at the next renewal.
+Refunds?
Annual subscriptions: pro-rated refund within 30 days of renewal, on request. Monthly: not refundable, but cancel any time and the rest of the period is yours.
+Is there a team / company plan?
Not yet. If you want bulk licensing for a team, email us and we'll figure something out.
+Where does my money go?
Payment processing fees vary by card and country. The remainder pays for GPT-4o transcription, signed app distribution, updates, licensing infrastructure, support, and the team building TypeFree.
