1. The license we grant you
These terms govern your use of the TypeFree macOS app and the related subscription service operated by Bellarivia Limited, a Hong Kong company. By installing, opening, or paying for TypeFree, you agree to them. If you do not, do not use the app.
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the TypeFree macOS app on Macs you own or control, for personal or business use. The app source code is not licensed under these terms; only the right to run the compiled binary is granted.
2. Free tier
Anyone with a TypeFree account can use the app on the Free tier indefinitely. Free includes core local TypeFree On-Device transcription and cleanup where supported, vocabulary biasing, built-in writing styles, translation, and 100 TypeFree Cloud minutes per month for Cloud use only. Standard raises the included TypeFree Cloud allowance and dictionary size; Pro adds heavier cloud usage, custom cleanup prompts, audio file dictation, BYOK/self-hosted routes, and other professional privacy workflows as they become available.
3. Subscriptions and billing
- Plans: Standard $10 USD/month or $80 USD/year. Pro $20 USD/month or $129.99 USD/year. Billed in advance.
- Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel via Stripe Customer Portal in the app Account panel or by emailing us.
- Payment: Processed by Stripe. We do not see, store, or process your card details.
- Extra cloud credits: Paid users may buy additional TypeFree Cloud credits starting at USD 5. Extra credits do not expire while your account remains active, but they are not redeemable for cash.
- Price changes: If we change the price, we will notify active subscribers by email at least 30 days before the next renewal.
- Taxes: Prices are listed exclusive of VAT/GST/sales tax where applicable; Stripe applies the appropriate tax based on your billing address.
4. Refunds
Annual subscriptions: refundable on a pro-rated basis within 30 days of the most recent renewal, on request. Monthly subscriptions are not refundable, but you can cancel any time and your subscription remains active until the end of the paid period.
5. Referral program
You may share your unique referral code. Each new paid subscriber who uses your code grants you one additional month of free service. Self-referrals, fraudulent referrals, or referrals using disposable accounts are not eligible and may result in cancellation of credits.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse-engineer the binary except where local law permits, process content you do not have rights to, resell or repackage the app, probe our servers, send spam, create fraudulent accounts, or generate fraudulent referrals.
7. Cleanup and transcription services
Default transcription and cleanup run on your Mac where supported. The app still uses TypeFree servers for licensing, billing, cloud-minute/account-limit enforcement, updates, and TypeFree Cloud when you choose it. If you explicitly enable TypeFree Cloud, BYOK, or a self-hosted route, audio and/or transcript data may be sent to the provider or server you selected. Review output before relying on it for anything consequential.
8. Disclaimers
TypeFree is provided as is and as available. We do not warrant that transcription, translation, or cleanup output will be accurate, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Review output before relying on it for anything consequential.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to TypeFree is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or USD 50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
10. Termination
You can stop using TypeFree at any time and uninstall the app. We can suspend or terminate your subscription if you breach these terms or if continued service becomes commercially unviable.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we do, we will change the Last updated date and notify subscribers by email at least 14 days in advance for material changes.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Hong Kong, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
